Very cool little tool Jack. It’s compact, gets me the info I need, gives me tons of ideas for topics (even topics I never thought to cover in my niche), and gives me tons and tons and tons of places to leave comments, trackbacks, and all that other cool stuff you’ve taught me.
Rock on man! Can’t wait for Dec. 2nd!

Thanks Jack. It has been nearly 3 hours since I downloaded it and I should have been in bed 3 hours ago!!
I just could’t drag myself away. I have a lot of free stuff, and I either don’t know how to use, configure, upload or it’s over my head, but I love this, and it will be something that I can get a lot out of plus ” all the stuff that Liz just said”. Thank you agaain, and goodnight( or should I say morning here in Australia)

Excuse me while I retrieve my jaw from the floor.
What a great little program – so called only because I cannot expand it to full screen. That would be a very nice enhancement for the future.
An excellent research tool and platform for the placement of comments on absolutely niche specific sites.
I expect to use it a lot – and it will work quietly away in the background while I occupiet elsewhere.
Thank you!!!

Thank you for this great tool. I have never seen anything that performs as well. Now I can quickly and accurately gather the most up-to-date posted info and news on virtually any blog topic or niche. I learned one key thing though, I forgot to check it regularly and ended up with so much quality information it will take me a week to get through it all (and that’s in only 5 hours). Really Jack, the word “great” doesn’t even come close to how fantastic Blog Talk is.

Yesterday I installed Blog Talk Monitor (BTM), added about 8-10 “Jobs” to monitor, which it did seemingly well, went about my usual business, and then began reading the various findings of BTM. When I fired up my computer this morning, I clicked on the desktop icon for BTM and was quite surprised to see the screen telling me I had to register all over again, then enter my code, which I did, but even more surprised to see those 8-10 “Jobs” I had entered yesterday gone. I wanted to keep these until I delete any particular “Job,” just as the “Delete” button on each “Job” line indicates.
What did I do wrong to cause BTM not to save my registration info and the “Jobs” since I selected the “Save Settings” on each “Job” I added yesterday?

It’s good as far as it goes, but it seems to be half-finished. There’s a Next Post link, but no Previous Post; you can’t go back. It would also be helpful if you showed the results in a list with clickable links.
The line “New Post 1 of xxx” doesn’t seem to work right. The xxx counts down, but on my system, never gets below 20, unless I go back and do a Check Now. Then it switches to 1.
I’m a software tester. See http://www.qa-software-testing.com;
Did you have someone other than the programmer test this?

The soft is cool, and a real boon to me as a freelance writer. Thank you for developing, and making it available. I am getting fantastic results w/ this minutes after installation. I love that it sits on the desktop, and keeps me in the loop for my keyword phrases. Kudos to the team.

Alden~

Looking forward to learning and applying more!

One thing I think could be improved is the ability to go back to posts that you have looked at already. You have a next post button how about a previous post button. Then an option to clear the posts ourselves or keep them for awhile and get back to them a some other time.
Great little program.

Great monitoring tool. Thanks for putting it out there.
I do have one question however. I like to scroll through all the sites listed and then go back to review specific ones. This software apparently won’t let me do that. Once I hit Next Site, I can’t seem to go back to the previous sites anymore. Is that correct or am I missing something?
If that’s really the case, please consider putting in that capability. By quickly scanning the entire list of sites, I get a good feel of their importance relative to each other and can select the best 2 or 3 out of that group.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you Jack for this great tool! The Blog Talk Monitor is easy to use and finds very useful information quickly. After reading some blog and news posts… I confirmed to myself that indeed there is some interest in a topic.

Hi Jack,
thanks for the tool it’s a great idea.
I was wondering if there was a way to save Job results.. i.e. the posts that get reported via the tool?
I’ll submit a ticket and ask I think.
Cheers!

Hi Jack,
Blog Talk Monitor is a great tool.
I’m already using it for research for myself and clients.
Blog Talk Monitor sure is a time saver.
Not to mention the Blog search results that I now get that previously I did not.
I do a lot of research and you have saved me hours of work every day that I can now use to grow my business.
Thank yo so much for creating this great tool.

Mitch

I just downloaded the tool and it looks great…free as well. As with most tools you could do it manually but it would literally take 5 times the effort and time investment than using the monitor software.
It would be even quicker if you could setup one job to pull from multiple sites instead of one job per site but that is a minor quibble (I love that word & never lose an opportunity to use it, haha).

Thanks for the handy tool, Jack. Looks to be a nice aggregater.
Perhaps, this is simply new user error, but is there a way to go back to a previous post within the tool itself? I took a quick look at seven post snippets in the tool, then wanted to go back & look at each one in more detail. But, I don’t see a way to make the post snippets reappear…only a “Next Post” link.
Best, Don Roberts

I was a bit skeptical when I saw your video but I’ve given it a try and, considering the amount of time I spend managing Google News alerts, you have a convert! It is going to save loads of time and may turn out to be the best thing since the alerts themselves. Only one small question – is it, or will it be later, possible to filter results by language?

Luv this little bonus. Great when it pops up and gives you snippets about what is happening out there. Can use it to make so many new contacts, and get so much information in my niche.
Thanks Jack

“is it, or will it be later, possible to filter results by language?”
This and any other improvements will come from you guys! The next update will certainly include previous posts (duh! can’t believe we missed that!) and any other things we can put in there pretty easily.
Not sure about the language thing, but if Google lets us query that way it shouldn’t be a problem.
(Listen to me acting like a programmer)

Blog Talk Monitor is a fantastic gift. I have left comments on more than 50 sites that I didn’t even know existed.
I have also written three blog posts just from information I obtained from using the software to do the research for me.
Thanks!

Very nice tool! I have been able to find several health and nutrition blogs (in my niche) that I would have never found otherwise and l have left comments to get more links back to my blog. Blog Talk Monitor is better than most paid blogger finding tools!

An Incredibly Simple but Effective Tool.
Works with IE and Windows far better than some of the other ones I tried, so blog talk monitor is now my default blog monitoring tool.
I was amazed it actually finds the best blogs to follow and not some preprogrammed blogs I’m not so sure about. It’s not about the number of blogs that you find but the quality and targetted areas.
I was pleasantly surprised that you can actually choose to follow the areas of the blogosphere that’s in the news.
Now I can actually “spy” on the state of the niches like Financial Freedom or Lifestyles that I’m into. And get this -these same blogs can actually get my sites very targetted traffic within just a few days.
Everyone on the web should just try it and see for themselves.

This is a very handy tool. It is great at getting fresh info in a particular niche. As the others have said it only needs button to go back to previous items and to give the user a choice whether to delete previous posts or not.
Congrats.
